CSTS: Cardiovascular Surgical Translational Study

Website of the Implementation of the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program to Eliminate Healthcare-Associated Infections in the Patients Undergoing Cardiovascular Surgery.


This is an AHRQ funded study. The aims for Cardiovascular Surgical Translational Study are:
  1. to eliminate central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI)
  2. to eliminate surgical site infections (SSI)
  3. to eliminate ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) and their related costs in the population of patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery.
Through this program we can all learn to save lives, prevent suffering and reduce healthcare costs.
